I am utterly consumed with my zen doodles.. I briefly tried them out several years ago when I was delving back into my crafts and doing ATC's back then I think. But this time I am concentrating on learning shading and making these not just doodles, but 3d doodles. I have never been much of a drawing artist, but I love to try. These doodles are so relaxing to do. I can sit and watch tv and doodle away. It isn't a precise craft, and there is no right or wrong (for the most part)... I can make them into other things.. like postcards or bookmarks.. or even frame them if I want. It's purely an art for art's sake, not to make money off of (eventhough I guess you could), just to enjoy the self expression. I showed you a postcard I was working on last time.. here it is finished and already in the hands of it's new owner:

I decided I wanted to make something a bit bigger. So I am working on a large one on a page in a sketch journal that I have had forever..it's nothing fancy - just the run of the mill spiral bound type, but I have ordered a nice one (along with a few more specialty markers) from Dick Blick - which has great prices by the way.. So here it is in progress.. I am not quite done, but very pleased with how it is coming along:

I know it's weird.. kinda abstract.. kinda surrealist.. but I have always love surrealists like the most famous of all - Salvador Dali. When I am done with this one, I plan on framing it.
You know I always have to pack a traveling tote for whatever craft I am working on.. so here is my traveling drawing bag:

Look what came in the mail to feed my embroidery obsession:
For post crossing I joined a Round Robin where we send regular postcards with things drawn where you would normally write a message.. here's the backs of my postcards I sent out:

I also finally finished that mushroom embroidery/crewel project I was working on.. I turned it into a mini wall hanging. I am quite happy with it and I hope my partner is too. It has a hanging pocket on the back:

Here is a close up of my embroidery:

I also got my first big swap package from Craftster for the Tim Burton Swap.. I showed you what I made a while back... here is what my partner sent me.. I LOVE it.. Oogie Boogie was my favorite as you can see is reflected in what she made for me. I adore getting things in mediums I don't work in:

I also got a wonderfully delightful package from Sandy in the Year of Enchantment swap!! Look at all the lovlies and yummies :-) :
I forgot to share some dentist pictures with you from last week too.. I took all the kids for their 6 mo checkup.. and all fared well.. everything looks good and if it continues they won't have to have any pricey orthadontal work:

Well it's getting late and I want to head to bed with one of these:

The hubs:

And my new drawing travel kit:

Until next time, Much love and God bless!!

I LOVE the abstract zentangle piece! The words 'tucked into it' are fun & fabulous because they don't jump right out at you but instead, all of a sudden you look again and notice them! WONDERFUL! ALL the postcards are great! And the mushroom embroidery made me HAPPY for some reason! It looks cute and happy and sorta retro! You're smart to make yourself the cool travel packs! That way you're always prepared! Speaking of 'traveling', Marcus looks like he's ready to roll! AWESOME photo of him! And - needless to say - you KNOW I love the photos of my three sweethearts! Give 'em kisses from Aunty Kai! LOVE YOU, Court! (Now - go get some REST! Orders from Dr. Comanche Momma! LOL!)
Thank you so much for the kind comment on my swap-bot profile. But hey....your zentangles look amazing as well!
If you ever want to do a swap, let me know and we will send zentangles around the globe.
I love your daughter's shirt! Also, I've read saving ceecee honeycutt and it was really good! Hope you enjoy it!
